Nightblade is the only class that has a vanish skill that lets you get out of sticky situation or prepare your most devastating attacks. Assassination Nightblades will be all about dealing damage (or buffing themselves to do the most damage). Shadow is the skill line you want to follow if you want to get utility abilities that will make you vanish and do the most damage while surprising your enemies. Siphoning is more about DOTs and leaching health. Great for weakening mobs while staying alive. Whether you use a bow, daggers or other means of dealing damage to your enemies, Nightblade’s skill will help you dispose of them the fastest. WardenNightblade PVE - High Survivability / Sustained DPS
Tried variations of this in beta and found that this is a very effective build structure for Nightblades who want to focus on ranged DPS as opposed to duel wielding while leveling. If you want to swap in and out of range to get that full "rogue / hunter" experience, my melee build is located on the second tree. I only swap to melee if I have a surplus of magicka during fights. Usually can kill off a group of mobs before I'm even hit.
I am level 38 currently and have had no problems taking on groups of at least 3-4 mobs that are on average 2-3 levels higher than my character at any given time. You mark a target, snipe, and full auto attack. Usually kills one mob right away. You then cast Swallow Soul and Poison Injection on each additional mob before casting Shadowy Disguise. The remaining mobs will stop where they are and you can get off another crit auto attack from stealth. Reapply PI and SS as necessary and auto your way to victory. Most fights against groups of 3 mobs take about 7-10 seconds before they are all dead.
