Quest Text:

Alana and her soldiers were ambushed on their way to confront Faolchu. Now Alana has been taken captive and the remaining soldiers are too few to divide their attention. Moreover, I still need to figure out how Faolchu was killed in this time period.

First objective:

I need to decide my next course of action. Do I go after Faolchu or should I try to save Alana and leave Faolchu to the remaining soldiers?

Guide:

This is the last quest in the Glenumbra Moors chain. Up to this point pretty much everything was straight forward, but now you have to decide whether to go after Faolchu or rescue Alana.

SPOILERS

Choosing to go after Faolchu with the soldiers makes this mission a bit easier, but saving Alana is a morally correct choice. Whichever you choose here are the outcomes. Spoilers ahead (you have been warned).

Rescue Alana

Saving Alana will doom the soldiers sent to kill Faolchu, but it will also alter the present (remember, you are in the past and effectivly changing the present). Saving Alana is easy and you are sent to kill Faolchu in any case, only you will not be accompanied by soldiers. The trick to killing him is drawing him across fires in the cave. This weakens and stuns him for a few seconds and will deal more damage than anything you can dish out solo. Surprising outcome of this choice is that the present is now changed and there is a direct descendant of Alana waiting for you outside and some additional changes have happened.

Kill Faolchu

You will have some soldiers accompany you into Faolchu’s lair. Kill the mobs and when Faolchu lands your goal is to make him walk through fires, which will weaken him and make him open to your attacks.

You are faced with a very tough choice of either rescuing Alana or killing Faolchu.

Choosing to rescue Alana will give additional boons to the overall story.

Once you rescue Alana you are sent to kill Faolchu anyways, so you won’t miss out on any action – it might just prove to be a tad harder.

Weather you chose to fight with the guards or save Alana you will have to face the werewolf.

The trick to beating him is taking him through fires scattered around the cave. This weakens him and damages him much more than you can with your skills at that level.
