Morrowind, the first Elder Scrolls Online expansion, offers a vast number of new armor and weapon sets. They are categorized in four groups: Overland, Crafted, Battleground and Trial. Each one of them has unique looks, and a light, medium and heavy version that favor magicka, stamina or health regeneration. In this guide, we’re going to show you a list of ESO Morrowind armor sets & weapons, what they look like and their stats.
Note 1: The screenshots and stats shown below were taken from PTS v3.0.4. It is highly likely that some of them will change at launch. We’ve even seen changes in the look of some sets just between two PTS patches.
Note 2: The numbers shown below are for Champion Level 160. Numbers vary due to many factors, so take them with a grain of salt. Go to the end of the guide to see all the set traits and enchantments.
ESO Morrowind Overland Sets
Three new sets can be found in this category. They are the War Maiden (Light), Defiler (Medium) and Warrior-Poet (Heavy). These sets endured the most changes on the PTS. Their look was completely redesigned, while the stats suffered some slight tweaks. Once again, what you see here might not be what’s in the final product.
War Maiden (Light)
- (2) Adds 664 Spell Critical

- (5) Adds 386 Spell Damage to your Magic Damage abilities.
Defiler (Medium)
- (2) Adds 124 Weapon Damage
- (3) Adds 664 Weapon Critical
- (4) Adds 664 Weapon Critical
- (5) When you deal Critical Damage, you have an 8% chance to summon a Hunger that spews poison at all enemies in front of it, dealing 5790 Poison Damage and stunning any enemy hit for 5 seconds. This effect can occur once every 5 seconds.
Warrior-Poet (Heavy)
- (2) Adds 1027 Maximum Health
- (3) Adds 2548 Spell Resistance
- (4) Adds 2548 Physical Resistance
- (5) Gain Minor Toughness at all times, increasing your Max Health by 10%. Adds 1027 Maximum Health.
ESO Morrowind Crafted Sets
There are three crafted sets in Morrowind: Assassin’s Guile, Daedric Trickery and Shacklebreaker. Assassin’s Guile can be made at the Marandus crafting station (south from Red Mountain), Daedric Trickery at Randas Ancestral Tomb (west from Red Mountain), Shacklebreaker at Zergonipal (northeast from Red Mountain).

Morrowind Battleground Sets
With the first expansion comes a new type gear set – battleground sets. There are two light ones (Wizard’s Riposte and Knight Slayer), one medium (Coward’s Gear), one heavy (Vanguard’s Challenge), and one that contains all three armor variations (Impregnable).
Wizard’s Riposte (Light Armor Set)

- (4) Adds 124 Magicka Recovery
- (5) When you take Critical Damage, you apply Minor Maim to the enemy for 15 seconds, reducing their damage by 15%.
Knight Slayer (Light Armor Set)
- (2) Adds 933 Maximum Magicka
- (3) Adds 124 Spell Damage
- (4) Adds 1027 Maximum Health
- (5) Your fully-charged Heavy Attacks against Players deal an additional 10% of their Max Health as Oblivion Damage.
Coward’s Gear (Medium Armor Set)
- (2) Adds 1027 Maximum Health
- (3) Adds 124 Stamina Recovery
- (4) Adds 124 Stamina Recovery
- (5) While Sprinting, you gain Major Expedition and Major Protection, increasing your Movement Speed and reducing your damage taken by 30%.
Vanguard’s Challenge (Heavy Armor Set)
- (2) Adds 1027 Maximum Health
- (3) Adds 1027 Maximum Health
- (4) Adds 4% Healing Taken
- (5) When you taunt an enemy Player, they deal 50% less damage to all other Players but 100% more damage to you for 15 seconds.
Impregnable Armor (All 3)
The light, medium and heavy Impregnable sets look exactly like the other ones from the battleground section.

ESO Morrowind Trial Gear Sets
With the new trial come the new sets – two light ones (Inventor’s Guard and Master Architect), one medium (War Machine) and one heavy (Automated Defense).
Inventor’s Guard (Light)
- (2) Adds 124 Magicka Recovery
- (3) Gain Minor Aegis at all times, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
- (4) Adds 2% Healing Done
- (5) When you use an Ultimate ability, you and the closest 2 allies within 28 meters of you gain Major Aegis for 10 seconds, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 15%.
Master Architect (Light)
- (2) Adds 933 Maximum Magicka
- (3) Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
- (4) Adds 124 Spell Damage
- (5) When you use an Ultimate ability, you and the closest 2 allies within 28 meters of you gain Major Slayer for 10 seconds, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 15%.
War Machine (Medium)
- (2) Adds 933 Maximum Stamina
- (3) Gain Minor Slayer at all times, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
- (4) Adds 124 Weapon Damage
- (5) When you use an Ultimate ability, you and the closest 2 allies within 28 meters of you gain Major Slayer for 10 seconds, increasing your damage done to Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 15%.
Automated Defense (Heavy)
- (2) Adds 1027 Maximum Health
- (3) Gain Minor Aegis at all times, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 5%.
- (4) Adds 4% Healing Taken
- (5) When you use an Ultimate ability, you and the closest 2 allies within 28 meters of you gain Major Aegis for 10 seconds, reducing your damage taken from Dungeon and Trial Monsters by 15%.
Morrowind Armor and Weapon Sets General Info
Almost all sets have identical enchantments and traits. Only the battleground sets have armor impenetrable traits ( which increases your Critical Resistance by 2498 and this item takes 50% less durability damage), everything else is the same, just as it is shown in the table below.
